I received a great letter from Elizabeth Gross, Customer Service, Steiner Tractor Parts, Inc. Elizabeth recently had some problems with SAIA...a freight company she was dealing with. Elizabeth states, "We should have exclusively used the NTPDA recommended carrier, Yellow Freight, but regretfully we sent several shipments with SAIA last spring." She detailed the trouble she had in the letter she wrote (to me and SAIA Claims Department) in the hopes that others would learn from her mistakes. I will be publishing the letter in the next issue of the Bulletin. Elizabeth was very honest in what happened to them and what can go wrong with LTL shipments. She also stated, "As the costs of fuel have increased, I'm sure that other members have gone rate-shopping also. It would be useful to have a blog where we can share our experiences about various carriers so that we can have the benefit of the experiences of the entire membership when making shipping decisions."
Again, the invitation is out there to any of you that want to share your freight experiences or anything else you feel would be useful to the entire membership.
Remember that the NTPDA is YOUR Association for used, rebuilt and new agricultural and industrial repair parts!

BINGO!! This is exactly the right kind of BLOG piece. You are giving some information and helping showcase the benefits of being a member. Great! Michael
Thanks for posting this Phyllis! I appreciate it! I hope that others will share their experiences. I know it would help ME out!! Thanks!
